Data Validation is a process which checks that data has been correctly entered into a software programme (e.g. database or spreadsheet). It uses a set of rules, which may contain a range of acceptable values, to determine whether the data is incorrect, incomplete or unreasonable.
You will find examples of validating data in the database and spreadsheet drills which accompany the GCSE Double Award in Applied ICT.
